Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX)
"Despite word "currency", MICEX is the largest stock exchange within Russia, Central Asia, Central and Eastern Europe.
MICEX is a government institution, as the main shareholder of this company is the Bank of Russia - the government body with exclusive power for monetary issue and regulating all banks of a country.
Securities of all Russian biggest joint-stock companies are presented at MICEX and available for trading.
MICEX is a favorite exchange for the Russians and foreign investors and traders, at which the trading with high liquidity shares of such well-known largest companies as "Gazprom", "RusHydro", "Lukoil", "FSK EES", "Rosneft", Sberbank of Russia is driven.
